Round trip from Lake Christlessee through the river valley Dietersbach up to Höfats, one of the most popular summits of the alps in the Allgäu
We climb the Höfats, which is situated south of Oberstdorf between the valleys Oytal and Dietersbachtal. The grassy mountain is regarded the landmark of the alps in the Allgäu and furthermore popular for its distinct alpine flora. Our way leads us through a long-drawn-out river valley and on a narrow meanderring path up to the four peaks of the Höfats, which have almost the same height and which give the mountain its characteristic look. There are two pairs of peaks, which are separated through deep wind gaps. The tour is quite demanding, due to steep grassy slopes and rock ledges, particularly since there are to little or no protection rails. The tour should be done by experienced hikers only.
Safe the tour offline with the Outdooractive App, before you start your hike.
The tour is just recommended when the weather conditions are dry, because the path gets a lot more difficult when it is wet or icy. You should be sure-footed, not scared of heights and experienced hiking in high alpine terrain.
